James Varley

James Varley is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in the charity sector. Currently serving as Finance Director at CW+, since August 2012, James manages all financial and investment affairs for the charity. As Director at Deane Consulting, established in January 2012, James provides value-driven accounting and business solutions to charities. Previous roles include Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Finance at Guy's and St Thomas' Charity, where James oversaw finance and estates management and actively participated in strategy formulation. From 1991 to 1998, James held the position of Head of Finance and Administration at Trust For London, managing various operational areas for the charity. Early career experiences include supervisory roles at KPMG and RPG Crouch Chapman LLP, where James developed auditing skills. Academically, James holds an MBA with distinction from the University of Warwick, is a qualified ACA Chartered Accountant, and earned a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of Bristol.
