Caroline Mendonça is an anthropologist and social scientist specializing in ethnic conflicts in Rwanda, traditional communities, social mobilization, environmental racism, and climate justice. With over a decade of experience, they have worked directly on human rights issues, focusing on race and gender dynamics while supporting traditional peoples, particularly black and quilombola populations. At the Instituto Guaicuy, Caroline served as Senior Supervisor, leading a multidisciplinary team and enhancing operational processes. Currently, as a doctoral candidate in Social Anthropology at UFRJ, Caroline integrates academic research with professional practice, addressing socio-environmental conflicts and promoting sustainable community empowerment and practices.
