Matey Nikolov

Matey Nikolov is an experienced professional with a strong background in youth leadership and social movements, currently serving as the Programme Lead for Activism and Social Movements at ActionAid. With extensive experience leading youth programming in humanitarian crises, especially in Ukraine and neighboring countries, Matey has developed innovative approaches that integrate protection, social cohesion, and capacity building. Previous roles include Technology, Social Movements and Innovation Officer at ActionAid Denmark, where a social movements compass tool was developed, and experience in project development with organizations such as International Media Support and Wiredelta. Matey's academic qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences from University College Utrecht and a Master of Science in Global Studies from Roskilde University.
