Catie McVey is currently serving as an Activate Fellow at Activate since June 2023 and is the founder of OsRostrum, Inc., which focuses on a high precision phenotyping platform integrating conformation analysis with computer vision and machine learning. McVey holds a PhD in Animal Biology from the University of California, Davis, supported by prestigious fellowships, and has extensive research experience, including the development of livestock facial inference technology and machine vision algorithms at NC State University. Prior to these roles, McVey earned dual master's degrees in Livestock Systems and Applied Statistics from Colorado State University and possesses significant internships and research experience in animal welfare, behavior, and product development within veterinary contexts.
