Karin Lion

Karin Lion is the Chief Growth Officer at Activate, a company that specializes in data and technology for social good. Karin has over ten years of experience working in the social impact sector, with a focus on strategy, business development, and partnerships. Prior to joining Activate, Karin was the VP of Strategy at Digital Green, a tech non-profit working to reduce poverty globally. At Digital Green, Karin led product strategy development for a digital data platform for the Ethiopian agricultural sector and established and led cross-functional teams responsible for programmatic and organizational strategy, business development and partnerships, measurement and evaluation, external communications, and the management of multi-country programs. Karin also served as a Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where they managed grants focused on global health initiatives. Karin began their career in the social sector as a Field Coordinator at New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, where they coordinated volunteers and managed construction projects. Karin has a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from the University of Washington.

Karin Lion has a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies from The George Washington University. Karin also has a Bachelor of Arts in Karin'story and Government from William & Mary. Karin Lion has certification from Coursera in Business Strategies for Social Impact and from IDEO U in Designing Strategy: Uniting Rigor and Creativity to Create a Successful Strategy.
