Senior Data Scientist, Gameplay

Steven Boada, PhD, is a Senior Data Scientist at Activision since January 2021, focusing on enhancing gameplay through data analysis. Previously, Steven served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for the Call of Duty franchise, where responsibilities included leading the infrastructure transition from AWS to GCP and supporting data scientists with their workflows. In early 2020, Steven completed a Data Science Fellowship at Insight Data Science, which bridged academic research and data science applications. A Postdoctoral Researcher at Rutgers University from 2016 to 2020, Steven led a five-year astronomical project involving extensive data analysis and pipeline development. Steven's earlier experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University and the University of Tennessee, where significant research and laboratory supervision took place, along with a Visiting Scientist position at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Texas A&M University, a Master’s Degree in Astrophysics from the University of Tennessee, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the same institution.
