Yian Chen

Graphics Research Associate, Intern

Yian Chen has gained valuable experience in various roles related to graphics and game development. At The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Yian served as a Research Study Assistant, developing innovative methods for learning eyelash curves using neural rendering and creating a 3D curve pipeline from 2D annotations. Previous positions include an internship with Tencent in the Media Group, a Game Developer role at 网易, where a novel method for optimizing signed distance fields was proposed, and a GPU Rendering Intern position at Samsung Semiconductor, focusing on optimizing AMD's FSR2 algorithm for mobile platforms. Currently, Yian is a Graphics Research Associate Intern at Activision, building on the extensive knowledge and skills acquired through ongoing education at the University of Pennsylvania from 2023 to 2025.
