Balz Roth

Balz Roth is a board member, business angel, and innovation and strategy consultant who helps startups and SMEs grow through strategic guidance, deal structuring, and IP licensing. With over 18 years of experience, they have supported ventures in business model innovation, international scaling, and related advisory work as an Innosuisse startup coach and board member. They work with deep-tech startups such as ActLight and NovoMOF and consumer-facing companies like Faction and Splash, guiding financing, growth, and exits, and they advise on the boards of established SMEs such as Trafag. They earned a MBA (Master of Business Engineering) from the University of St. Gallen (2008–2009), a Diplom in Advanced Corporate Finance from the University of Zurich (2005), a BA in Economics from the Graduate School of Business Administration Zurich (1991), and an Ing. HTL in Electrical Engineering from HSR Hochschule Papperswil (1982–1985).
