Sy Gourrah

Sy Gourrah is an accomplished electrical engineer and business executive with extensive experience in both engineering and management roles. Currently serving as Past President of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers and Senior General Manager of Smart Technologies at ACTOM (Pty) Ltd since May 2015, Sy has a proven track record in business development, project management, and strategic direction. Previous roles include Deputy CEO at Ompetha Power Projects, Managing Principal at Lebohang Project Management, and General Manager of Electrical & Mechanical Services at Buffalo City Municipality. Sy has also held leadership positions with the Association of Municipal Electricity Utilities Southern Africa and possesses expertise in evaluating engineering programs as an assessor for the Engineering Council of South Africa. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mangalore University and a Masters in Business Administration from Regenesys Education.
