Melissa Diaz

Vice President at Actum

Melissa Diaz has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Starting in 2008, they began their career as a Communications Intern at the Democratic National Committee. Melissa then interned at The White House in the Presidential Personnel Office in 2012. Following that, they worked as a Media Research Analyst at the Office of the Mayor of New York City in 2013 and later as an Intergovernmental Liaison at the New York City Fire Department from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, Melissa became an Advisor and Director of Research and Media Analysis at the Office of the Mayor of New York City. Melissa then served as the Director of Government Affairs at the American Museum of Natural History from 2018 to 2021. In 2021, Melissa joined Colorwave as part of their Fellowship Program, where they worked as a Fellow and Cohort Facilitator until 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President at Actum, starting in September 2022.

Melissa Diaz holds a Master of Public Administration degree from NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Melissa also holds a Master of Science degree in Education from Hunter College. Additionally, Melissa received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from Columbia University. Melissa completed their high school education and obtained a diploma from Choate Rosemary Hall.
