John Mayfield

John Mayfield is a Principal Design Engineer at Acuity Brands, where they design and engineer fluorescent and LED luminaires for the Commercial Indoor group of the Lithonia Lighting brand. They previously held roles as a Senior Design Engineer at Optima Electronic Packaging Systems, where they designed electronic enclosures for various military and industrial clients, and as Director of Design at Modular Engineering, overseeing the development of food service equipment products. John began their career as a fabricator and designer intern at Glashaus International, focusing on race car bodies and components. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design and a Certificate in Industrial Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. John is currently retired from product development.
