Peter Laing

Peter Laing is an accomplished leader in the social enterprise and community development sectors, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of The Renewal Programme since March 2020. Laing is also an Acumen Fellow, participating in the 2022 UK Cohort, focusing on collaboration with social leaders to address poverty and social division. Previously, Laing held the Chief Executive position at Bonny Downs Community Association for over 13 years, where a turnover of £600k per annum was managed while employing a staff team of 40 to enhance community well-being. Early career roles included serving as a Sports Development Officer at BDCA and a Project Officer at Newham Council, where project and financial management skills were honed. Laing holds a first-class BA in Social Enterprise from the University of East London and a Higher National Certificate in Business Studies from the University of Greenwich.
