Stephen Gilbert

Stephen Gilbert currently serves as a Professor at the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health and holds advisory roles at Prova Health and Ada Health, focusing on regulatory and clinical evaluation aspects. Additionally, Stephen is an Expert Consultant for the European Commission Directorate General Research & Innovation, contributing to regulatory governance and innovation in medical devices, and is involved with the RAPS Euro Convergence Program Committee on AI and software. Stephen has authored content as a News and Views Editor for Nature Portfolio - Digital Health and participates in advisory groups for various studies coordinated by the European Commission. Prior experience includes managing clinical evaluations at BIOTRONIK and conducting research as a Senior Post-doctoral Research Scientist. Stephen holds a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from the University of Leeds and multiple degrees in veterinary medicine and molecular biology from the University of Glasgow.
