James Dong has an extensive background in the research and development of lithium-ion batteries, having served in various leadership roles including Vice President of Research and Development at ADA Technologies, Inc. since 2024, and Director of Electrolyte Development at Microvast, Inc. from 2017 to 2019. Their previous positions include Research Director at Navitas Systems, LLC from 2019 to 2022, and Senior Scientist, Project Lead at Prieto Battery, Inc. from 2013 to 2017. James earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemistry and Physical Chemistry from Fudan University, followed by a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology, where they were also a Research Assistant from 2003 to 2008.
