Dan Halbert

Engineer at Adafruit

Dan Halbert has worked in the tech industry since 1980, starting with a research role at Xerox Corporation. In 1985, they moved to Digital Equipment Corporation, where they worked as a Principal Software Engineer and researcher until 1993. Dan then joined Ascom Nexion as a Principal Software Engineer, where they worked on object-oriented technology and GUI tools for network management. In 1995, they joined BBN Technologies as a Senior Scientist and Distinguished MTS, working on speech recognition technology and its applications. In 2007, they were a Consulting Software Engineer at EveryZing, Inc. (now RAMP Holdings), developing RAMP's core technology. Finally, in 2017, they joined Adafruit Industries as an Engineer.

Dan Halbert received their S.B. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1978 and their Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1984.
