Straff Wentworth has over thirty years of experience in the technology industry. Straff began their career at Ridge Computers in 1982 as an OS Manager. After that, they moved to Ardent/Stardent/Kubota where they held positions as an OS Engineer, OS Manager, and Director of Engineering. During this time, they were a key member of Kubota Pacific's re-start team where they developed the mission, secured funding, and helped grow the company to 180 people. In 1999, they became the VP of Engineering at PublishOne/InterTrust and was responsible for delivering a SaaS Digital Rights Management (DRM) product. In 2003, they joined SEVEN where they managed the client engineering organization and was responsible for the feature set, GUI, and development of SEVEN's mobile applications. In 2005, they joined Traverse Networks/Avaya as the Director of Unified Communication and Mobile Clients. In 2009, they became the Director of Big Data and Mobile Analytics - Engineering at Openwave Systems. In 2013, they joined Adapt-IP as the VP R&D Software and VP of Engineering, USB Products. In 2017, they founded and became the CEO of USB Defender, where they design and manufactures USB firewall products.
Straff Wentworth attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1973 to 1976, earning a BA in Computer Science and a BA in Psychology. In April 2018, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera.
