Simone Wittmann has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Simone began their career as a design trainee at design-people in 2009. Simone then worked as a student assistant in the international office at the University of Wuppertal, where they also served as a Summer University Tutor.
In 2010, Simone joined frog as an interaction designer, contributing to various projects across Europe. During their time at frog, they also took on the role of a senior design researcher, specializing in user research and conducting usability tests, interviews, and workshops in multiple countries.
Simone's passion for design and innovation led their to Alpha, Telefonica's Moonshot Factory, in 2018, where they worked as a senior design researcher on energy solutions for underserved populations. Simone later became a founding team member of Bia, a startup focused on integrating renewable energy into the grid using electric vehicles.
Since 2019, Simone has been working at Adevinta as a UX Research Lead. In this role, they collaborate with local and central teams to improve UX initiatives, facilitates the sharing of research findings across international marketplaces, and provides training to advance UX practices.
Simone's dedication to community involvement is evident through their volunteer work at Lesefüchse e.V. and their participation as part of the team at creative mornings. Simone also mentored students at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München and Competensum.
Throughout their career, Simone has demonstrated a strong ability to contribute to projects at various stages of the design process and has a particular expertise in user research and UX.
Simone Wittmann completed their education from 2004 to 2009 at Bergische Universität Wuppertal, where they obtained a Diplom degree in Industrial Design. In 2010, they briefly studied design psychology at Aarhus University, and from 2007 to 2008, they attended Delft University of Technology for Industrial Design. Additionally, they hold several certifications such as Product Discovery Coach and Product Academy Data Track from Adevinta, Machine Learning for Business, Product Discovery, and a Membership Certificate from The Interaction Design Foundation.
