Timothy M. Capstack

Partner & Director of Clinical Integration at Adfinitas

Dr. Timothy Capstack, partner and director of clinical integration, leads Adfinitas Health’s efforts to advance clinical integration and training of nurse practitioners and physician assistants across acute and post-acute services. Over the years he also has provided site and regional level leadership to several of their hospital medicine programs, providing oversight of clinical quality assurance and improvement and education of students and recent graduates, and works closely with other program directors, consultants, and hospital administration.

Tim was the lead author for the 2016 study “A Comparison of Conventional and Expanded Physician Assistant Staffing Models at a Community Hospital,” published in the Journal of Clinical Outcomes Management, which demonstrated the efficacy and safety of a hospital staffing model that employed a high ratio of PAs to physicians. Tim is a Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine and a Fellow in the American College of Physicians.

Tim completed his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine and his residency training in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine.
