Ben Herath

Ben Herath has extensive experience in the design industry, primarily in the sports apparel and footwear sector. Ben is currently the Vice President Design for Specialist Sports at adidas, where they are responsible for leading the design teams for various sports categories, including Tennis, Cycling, Swim, and Rugby. Prior to this role, Ben held positions as Vice President Design for Football and Running at adidas, where they led the creative direction and design strategy for each category. Ben has also held roles such as Head of Design and Category Design Director for Running at adidas, where they played a key role in developing innovative running footwear designs. Before joining adidas, Ben worked at Sprandi International Ltd. as a Design Director and Design Manager, overseeing the design and development of footwear collections and managing a team of designers. Ben also had experience as a Product Designer at 212 Design in Seoul, Korea, where they designed a range of products for clients, and at DAEWOO INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION as a Product Designer. Ben Herath has a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Product Design from the University of South Australia, which they obtained from 1992 to 1995. In 1994, they also received a Design Scholarship from Pukyong National University for Industrial and Product Design. In 2018 and 2019, they completed Executive Development Programs at Harvard Business School. In 2023, they attended the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford for an Executive Leadership Program and the MIT Sloan School of Management and Wharton Executive Education for unspecified programs.
