Richard Doerer

Richard Doerer currently serves as the Director of Technology at ModL3D, LLC since March 2019 and also holds the position of Additive Manufacturing and Engineering Manager at Adient, LLC since 2010. Previously, Richard was the Detroit Community Manager for 3DHEALS from October 2018 to January 2025 and had a long tenure at Johnson Controls Automotive, where Richard worked as a Scrum/Agile Coach and Engineering Manager, among other roles, from June 2000 to December 2016. Richard co-managed Owow, LLC from June 2002 to 2014 and was involved with 3D Development at Johnson Controls, Inc. from June 2000 to 2007. Early career experience includes managing RD Models (RDM) from 1987 to 1998 and serving as faculty at the School of Architecture at Yale University during the same period. Richard holds an MBA from Michigan State University, acquired in 2013, an MFA from Yale University, and a BFA from Western Michigan University.
