Michael Battles has worked in the scientific field since 2004. Michael began their career as a Research Associate at GlycoFi, where they were part of the Strain Development Group and performed targeted biochemical pathway engineering. In 2006, they moved to Merrimack Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Research Associate in the Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Profiling Group, where they developed a streamlined protocol for the recombinant production, purification, and QC of several ErbB signalling network ligands. In 2008, they joined Adimab, LLC as a Scientist I, where they served as a project leader supervising a team of researchers in selection, maturation, and characterization of antibodies. Michael also served as the Adimab representative responsible for supplying lead antibody candidates to fill infectious disease pipeline of a European partner. In 2013, they moved to Dartmouth College as a Ph.D. Student. In 2018, they returned to Adimab, LLC as a Scientist II. Finally, in 2021, they were promoted to Senior Scientist II at Adimab.
Michael Battles earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire in 2004. Michael then obtained their Songwriting certification from Coursera in April 2013 and their BD FACS Aria Training certification from BD in January 2010. Finally, they completed their Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with a focus in Structural Biology from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in 2018.
