AdkAction is a nonprofit organization working to make life better across the Adirondacks through partnerships and creative problem solving. We envision an Adirondacks where people and nature thrive together, and we focus our efforts at the intersection of community development and ecosystem conservation.

Our work brings together local partners to design, test, and scale practical solutions to complex challenges. From strengthening essential infrastructure to piloting innovative programs, we take a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach that prioritizes real-world impact for year-round residents.

We are focused on several key areas of impact. We work to address basic needs by protecting and improving community infrastructure while advancing new approaches to persistent challenges. We explore how environmental issues affect people and how communities can take meaningful action to protect the places they depend on. We also investigate, mitigate, and respond to the impacts of emergencies on both people and landscapes across the Adirondacks.

A defining part of our approach is a commitment to learning. We rigorously evaluate our work, share what we learn, and contribute to broader conversations about rural innovation and resilience. By combining collaboration, creativity, and action, AdkAction helps build stronger communities and a healthier Adirondack region for the long term.
