Luis Araya

Luis Araya has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Luis co-founded Geek Seed / OutboxIT in 2014, where they served as the CIO and played a significant role in supporting and developing geek entrepreneurs and startups. Luis joined Admios in 2018 as a Senior Software Engineer, working on projects such as Utah County Services and Off The Grid.

From 2015 to 2018, Luis worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Renovatio Cloud Solutions, where their main project involved implementing an IoT use case for AWS and Salesforce integration. Prior to that, they served as a Software Development Engineer at SalsaMobi from 2013 to 2015, working on backend development, GraphQL queries, and mutations using ReactJS with TypeScript.

Luis also has experience in academia as a Professor at UNITEC, teaching computer system engineering courses, and as the Chief Technology Officer at Universidad de San Pedro Sula, overseeing infrastructure, applications development, and ITIL best practices. Additionally, they worked as an Analyst/Senior Developer for Grupo Leitz, conducting research and development for the ThreadMatcher startup.

Luis has also been actively involved in various community activities, such as serving as the Ubuntu Honduras Local Community team contact from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a Linux Instructor at New Horizons Honduras. Luis'searliest work experience includes serving as the Systems Manager for Hanesbrands Inc., providing user support and managing facilities from 2005 to 2008.

Luis Araya's education history begins in 1990 when they attended Instituto María Regina La Ceiba and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sciences and Letters in 1994. Luis then pursued their Engineering degree in Computer Systems at Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana from 1996 to 2004. In 2011, they enrolled at the same institution again, this time pursuing a Master's degree in Information Technology Management, which is currently ongoing.

In addition to their formal education, Luis Araya has also obtained several certifications. Luis received an EF SET Certificate from EF Standard English Test in March 2023. Luis has also completed various online courses, including CoffeeScript, JavaScript Road Trip Part 1, JavaScript Road Trip Part 2, Rails for Zombies Redux, The Magical Marvels of MongoDB, and Try Ruby, offered by Code School.
