Bern Samko

Bern Samko is a skilled Computational Linguist with extensive experience in project management and linguistics education. They have held roles including Linguistic Project Manager and Associate Linguistic Project Manager at Appen, where they effectively managed transcription projects and trained teams in multiple languages. Bern has also contributed to academia as a Lecturer in Linguistics at both UC Santa Cruz and Oakland University, designing curricula and evaluating student performance. They hold a BA in Linguistics and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a PhD in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Currently, Bern works as a Computational Linguist at ADP.
