We are passionate about advocating for an environment that actively contributes to diversity in academia. We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere centered on justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in our organization. We also seek to promote those values throughout our academic departments, our university, and the sciences more broadly. We aim to encourage the recruitment of traditionally underrepresented communities in science and engineering, as well as the retention of members from those communities throughout their careers. We will consistently seek to uplift the perspectives of our members and stakeholders so that we can enhance both the quality of the science that we perform today and that others perform tomorrow.
