Dean Roy

Dean Roy currently serves as the Assistant General Counsel at ADT, a position held since December 2012, where responsibilities include providing expert legal advice to business stakeholders and managing mergers and acquisitions. Prior to this role, Dean was a Senior Corporate Counsel at IBM from January 2008 to December 2012, focusing on the Business Analytics Division and advising the Executive Management Team and Board sub-committees. Dean's earlier experience includes serving as Corporate Counsel at Cognos, where involvement in strategic transactions took place, and as an Associate at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall. In addition, Dean held a brief role as a Professor at Carleton University and worked as a Clerk to the Senate and Parliamentary General Counsel for the Senate of Canada. Academic qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the same institution, along with bar admissions in Massachusetts, Florida, and Ontario.
