Darrell Smith

Darrell Smith, AIA, NCARB, CDT, serves as the BIM & Revit Implementor, Instructor, Evangelist, Mentor, Architect, Owner, and Reseller at The Mendicant Architect, LLC since April 2009. Additionally, Darrell has held the position of Virtual Computing Specialist and Authorized Agent at Advance2000 since April 2011, focusing on remote consultancy and training. With a strong background in martial arts as a Shaolin-Do Kung Fu and Tai Chi Instructor, Darrell emphasizes personal growth through discipline. Past roles include Authorized Agent for UNIFI Labs, Act-3D - Lumion, and Assemble, as well as BIM Manager and Instructor at Energy Engineering Associates. Darrell has also contributed as an adjunct professor at ITT Technical Institute and Del Mar College, teaching architectural drafting and Revit. Darrell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin.
