Simon Laker has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Simon began their career as a Field Services Engineer at Torex Plc in 1997 and later worked as an IT Operational Support Analyst at Disctronics - Sony DADC from 1999 to 2004. Simon then joined Colt Group Ltd as an IT Systems Engineer, where they managed network systems and provided administration and troubleshooting support. In 2006, Simon started working as a Technical Services Consultant at Computer & Network Consultants Ltd, where they provided IT infrastructure support and consultancy services to small and medium-sized businesses. Simon also worked at BlueberryIT Ltd as a Technical Services Manager, responsible for delivering technical solutions and managing a service desk. Simon then joined Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust as an Installations Engineer for a brief period in 2014. Simon subsequently worked at Erecruit as a Technical Consultant (Infrastructure) until 2018. Most recently, Simon has been working at The Body Shop as an International Server & Messaging Specialist. In 2019, they joined Advanced Energy as the Lead - IT Service Delivery EMEA.

Simon Laker obtained a B-TEC National Diploma in IT Systems from Northbrook College between 1995 and 1997. In addition, they hold various certifications including Leadership Essentials, Proofpoint Certified Insider Threat Specialist 2023, and several CompTIA A+ certifications.
