Emad Barsoum

Emad Barsoum currently serves as the Corporate Vice President of AI at AMD, focusing on generative AI, AI models, and applications since September 2023. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering at Cerebras Systems from November 2020 to September 2023, where Emad led the AI team in developing scalable backends for deep learning frameworks optimized for the Cerebras Wafer-Scale Engine. Emad has held multiple engineering and managerial positions at Microsoft, contributing to advancements in deep learning frameworks, ONNX standard creation, and computer vision projects, including leadership in hand tracking technology for HoloLens and development for the Xbox NUI platform. Emad's educational background includes a PhD in Computer Vision and Deep Learning from Columbia University and an MS in Computer Vision and Virtual Reality from UC Irvine.
