Michael Floyd

Fellow

Michael Floyd is a Fellow in Accelerated Datacenter Compute for HPC & AI, bringing extensive experience in chip design and power efficiency. They began their career in 1995 at Somerset AIM, contributing to the PowerPC 620 microprocessor, and later held various engineering roles at IBM from 2006 to 2021, notably leading the architecture and execution of the POWER10 and POWER11 processors. Currently, they lead bringup and validation efforts for Instinct GPU accelerators at AMD. Michael holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
