Norman James is a Senior Fellow at AMD, currently focused on Platform Architecture in Datacenter GPUs since 2024. Previously, they held roles as a Fellow in System Architecture and served as Chief Engineer for Data Center GPUs at AMD. Prior to that, Norman worked as a Director of Platform Architecture at NVIDIA and accumulated extensive engineering experience at IBM, where they were a Distinguished Engineer in IBM Cognitive Systems from 1996 to 2019. Norman earned a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University.
