Rodney Schmidt

Rodney Schmidt is an experienced professional in silicon design engineering and performance architecture, currently serving as the Director of Silicon Design Engineering at AMD since August 2021. Prior to this role, Schmidt worked at Arm as a Senior Principal Performance Architect and held various positions at Samsung Austin R&D Center, including Director of Performance Architecture. Schmidt's extensive career also includes a tenure at Advanced Micro Devices, where significant contributions were made in virtualization and performance optimization. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earned between 1981 and 1985.
