Alec McGregor

Alec McGregor has worked in a variety of engineering roles since 2012. In that year, they began as a Technical Assistant at TUV Rheinland Sonovation BV, where they worked as an assistant laboratory NDT Technician and developed Phased Array Ultrasonic procedures on stainless steel welds. In 2015, they became a Rotating Equipment Engineering Intern at Shell, working on a confidential research project regarding high efficiency gas/vapour compression using alternative ejector technology. In 2016, they moved to Eddyfi as a Robotics for NDE EngD Researcher. In 2021, they joined Siemens as an Algorithm and Measurement Solutions Engineer, and they are currently an Robotics Mechanical Hardware Engineer at Advanced Navigation.

Alec McGregor attended the American British Academy Oman from 2009 to 2011, where they earned an International Baccalaureate. Alec then went on to the University of Strathclyde from 2011 to 2016, where they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering with Financial Management. In 2013 and 2014, they studied Industrial Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). Alec is currently pursuing an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in Robotics for NDE at the University of Strathclyde, which they expect to complete in 2021.
