Thomas Powell

Thomas Powell has a strong background in engineering and research. In 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where they developed new research techniques and presented results to a post-doctorate group. From 2015 to 2022, they worked at Cambridge Mechatronics Ltd as a System Engineer and later as a Control & Test Engineer. In these roles, they were responsible for minimizing production stoppages, mentoring junior engineers, and developing new systems for quality control. Thomas also had a wide range of responsibilities, including supply chain quality control, product reliability assurance, and customer support. Currently, they are working at Advanced Navigation as a System Verification Engineer, starting in 2023.

Thomas Powell attended St Aidan's and St John Fisher Associated Sixth Form from 2009 to 2011, where they studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Thomas then went on to the University of Cambridge from 2011 to 2014, where they obtained a MA in Natural Sciences (Materials Science).
