Dena Johnson

Dena Johnson currently serves as Chairperson at Advarra since May 2022, bringing extensive experience in the field of research and compliance. Prior to this role, Dena held the position of Assistant Director at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from March 2016 to May 2022. Dena's career at Vanderbilt also included serving as Protocol Analyst and later as Regulatory Compliance Manager within the Vanderbilt Human Research Protection Program from January 2003 to February 2016. Earlier, Dena worked as an Investigations Management Specialist at the State of Tennessee - Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities from July 2001 to December 2002. Dena holds a Master of Education in Organizational Leadership and Communication from Belmont University (2010-2012) and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University (1982-1986).
