Alison Ormsby

Alison Ormsby is a seasoned professional in the field of Environmental Studies, currently serving as a Forest Specialist at Adventure Scientists since July 2023. Prior to this role, Ormsby held various academic positions at UNC Asheville from August 2015 to June 2023, including Lecturer in Environmental Studies and Director of Sustainability. Additional experience includes graduate mentorship at Prescott College, consulting for the Sacred Seeds Project at United Plant Savers, and professorship at Eckerd College. Earlier career roles included writing and editing for the Earth Negotiations Bulletin at the International Institute for Sustainable Development and teacher training for the Wildlife Conservation Society. Ormsby began professional endeavors as an Environmental Scientist at McCormick Taylor, Inc., and as a Park Manager and Environmental Educator with the Peace Corps. Ormsby holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England and a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from Yale University.
