Desmond Kriel

Desmond Kriel is currently the Engineering Manager for the SADC East Cluster at AECI Mining, a position they have held since 2018. Prior to this, Desmond worked as an Explosives Engineer at AEL Intelligent Blasting and served as both a Mechanical Technician and Engineering Team Manager at AEL Mining Services, where they focused on various engineering and compliance management tasks. Desmond studied Mechanical Engineering at Tshwane University of Technology and earned a diploma in Explosives Engineering from AEL Mining Services, complemented by a GCC in Engineering from the Department of Labour. Their career spans notable roles in both mechanical and explosives engineering, contributing to major projects and compliance initiatives within the industry.
