Simon Nare

Simon Nare is an accomplished information security professional currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at AECI Limited since February 2025. Prior to this role, Simon held the position of Head of Information Security for TransUnion Africa from June 2023 to January 2025, and served as Senior Manager for Technology Security at MTN between August 2017 and May 2023. Earlier experience includes a Senior Manager role in Cyber Security Operations at the South African Reserve Bank, and as Information Security Manager for the Government of South Africa from April 2010 to December 2016. Simon also worked as a Cyber Security Specialist and Researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and held a position as IT Support & Training Specialist at the National Prosecuting Authority. Academically, Simon Nare holds an MBA and a Post Graduate Diploma in General Management from GIBS Business School, a Master of Information Technology from the University of Pretoria, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Limpopo.
