Alan Harwood

Alan Harwood is a Principal and Vice President at AECOM, where they lead urban design and planning initiatives in Washington, DC. With a career spanning over four decades, Alan has significant experience in urban development, community planning, and the approvals process for major projects, including national memorials and sports venues. Prior to their role at AECOM, they served as a Project Manager at Geo/Hydro and as an Urban Planner at EDAW, where they progressed to principal before the firm was acquired. Alan earned a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina.
