David Batts

David Batts is the Vice President at AECOM and a founding Principal of EMPSi, bringing over 25 years of expertise in environmental impact assessment and natural resource planning. They have contributed to over 200 environmental documents and have successfully managed numerous complex projects, achieving a “Lack of Objective – LO” ranking from the EPA—a testament to their high-quality NEPA documentation. With experience that includes roles as a Natural History Guide and Director, Batts has played a pivotal role in environmental compliance and permitting services for major energy and water projects across the United States. Their academic credentials include an MS in Natural Resource Management from Michigan State University and a BS in International Development from Lewis & Clark College.
