Derek Smith

Derek Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project management and military operations. Currently serving as a Project Manager at AECOM since February 2018, Derek previously held pivotal roles including Deputy Director at the Counter-Improvised Explosive Device Centre of Excellence, where leadership of a multinational team enhanced C-IED and Counter Terrorism capabilities. As Executive Director at the Defense Logistics Agency-Europe & Africa, Derek managed over 800 employees across 85 locations. Additional experience includes serving as a Senior Logistics Trainer at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center and Director of the 725th Main Support Battalion during Operation Enduring Freedom-V. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, a Master of Science in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Kentucky State University.
