Helen Simpson

Helen Simpson is an experienced professional in environmental management and technical direction, currently serving as Associate Director at AECOM since February 2022. Previously, Helen held the title of Technical Director at Wardell Armstrong LLP, managing teams in soils, agriculture, air quality, and acoustics, while also overseeing junior staff in ecology and hydrology. Prior roles include serving as Environmental Manager for National Grid, where responsibilities involved overseeing high-pressure gas pipeline projects, and as an Environmental Research Assistant with Rio Tinto Alcan and the University of Newcastle, focusing on air quality and pollution monitoring. Helen holds a PhD in Air Pollution & Plant Growth from Newcastle University and a BSc in Plant & Environmental Biology from the University of St Andrews.
