Ian Johnson

Ian Johnson is a Chartered Engineer with 30 years of international experience in major transportation infrastructure and currently serves as a Senior Engineering Manager for the NEOM Spine at AECOM in Sydney. Over the past 25 years, they have significantly contributed to the design of 13 underground and elevated urban rail schemes across eight countries, involving over 70 stations and extensive tunneling and viaduct work. Ian has led large-scale multi-discipline designs for complex mass transit projects in Qatar, as well as in Asia, including Hong Kong and Singapore, and in New Zealand. They previously held positions as Technical Director at SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit and at Atkins, focusing on various mass transit projects. Ian earned a BSc in Civil Engineering from King's College London.
