Jon Varndell is the Director of AECOM's Civil Infrastructure Group in New Zealand, a role they have held since 2016. With over 30 years of experience in consulting engineering, Jon has managed various multidisciplinary transportation projects across New Zealand, Hong Kong, Dubai, and the UK. Prior to their current position, they served as a Technical Director at URS Corporation from 2008 to 2016, directing significant infrastructure projects, including the first PPP Project in New Zealand. Jon began their career at Atkins, where they held various leadership roles in the UK and Hong Kong, significantly contributing to major road and transport initiatives. Jon is currently pursuing a BEng in Civil Engineering from Kingston University, having achieved First Class Honours.
