Liam Byrne is a Principal Aquatic Ecologist at AECOM, where they lead surveys, report writing, and lab work, specializing in fish ecology in both marine and freshwater environments. Having worked on significant infrastructure projects such as HS2 and the Mersey Gateway bridge, Liam possesses extensive experience in fish identification across all life stages of British marine and freshwater species. Liam is a Chartered Environmentalist registered with the Society for the Environment via the Institute of Fisheries Management and holds a Master of Science in Aquatic Resource Management from King's College London. Prior to their current role, Liam served as a Consultant and Senior Aquatic Ecologist at AECOM, and gained foundational experience as a Graduate Aquatic Ecologist at Jacobs and as a Fisheries Ecologist at Hull International Fisheries Institute.
