Phil Smith

Phil Smith is an experienced urban design professional with a diverse background in architecture and urban planning. Currently serving as the Urban Design Lead at AECOM since November 2024, Phil has previously held positions such as Principal Architecture/Urban Design while being self-employed and Urban Design Practice Lead at GHD Design. Extensive involvement in community and creative initiatives is demonstrated through roles as a Board Member and Director with Creative Alliance and Sunshine Coast Arts Advisory Board, among others. Phil's earlier career includes significant contributions as Principal at Gomango Architects and Principal Urban Designer at Maroochy Shire Council. Phil earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tasmania.
