Stephen Herbert

Stephen Herbert is a seasoned professional in the field of architecture with extensive experience in healthcare architecture and education. Currently serving as the Regional Director of Healthcare Architecture at AECOM since January 2023, Stephen has also contributed to the academic sector as a Professional Studies Advisor at the University of Cambridge since 2009, where responsibilities include monitoring students’ professional experiences. In addition, Stephen holds the position of External Examiner for RIBA Part III at the University of Portsmouth since 2010. Prior to AECOM, Stephen served as a Principal at HOK for over 26 years. Stephen's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment from the University of Cambridge and professional practice qualifications from London South Bank University, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Architecture from the University of Port Elizabeth.
