Dan Forter

Dan Forter, PE, PMP, currently serves as the Technical Director for the SMR Program at Aecon Group Inc., providing technical support for utilities and project partners in SMR development and construction since June 2019. Previously, Dan held roles as Project Technical Director for the Darlington New Nuclear Project and Project Director for the Turbine Generator Refurbishment at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station. Prior to Aecon, Dan worked at Siemens Field Staffing Inc. as a Senior Project Manager/Consultant and was self-employed for a brief period. Dan's extensive experience at NextEra Energy included positions such as Sr. Director of Projects and Manager of Projects, where oversight of large capital projects for regulatory compliance and equipment reliability was key. Dan began a career as a Senior Project Manager at NextEra Energy Resources’ ESG International and started in the industry at GE-Hitachi as a Senior Project Engineer focused on design and licensing. Dan earned a BS in Marine Engineering Systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
