Bei Shi

Bei Shi is an incoming Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Arlington, specializing in MOCVD epitaxy and the characterization of semiconductor materials. They have experience as a Senior Materials Scientist at Aeluma and as a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Santa Barbara, where they focused on the monolithic integration of III-V photonic devices with silicon photonic circuits. Bei earned a PhD in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where they conducted research on the epitaxial growth of III-V quantum dot lasers on silicon substrates. They also have a Bachelor's degree in Optoelectronics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
