Dinesh Perera is an experienced Network Planning Engineer at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) since October 2017, focusing on power system studies and technical advice related to electricity network planning in the National Electricity Market and Victoria. Prior to AEMO, Dinesh served as Principal Engineer at TasNetworks, conducting power system and economic analyses for new connections and developments, and held a similar role at Transend Networks, where strategic regional development plans were delivered. Dinesh began a career at Transpower New Zealand Limited, progressing from Planning Engineer to Senior Operations Planning Engineer, managing energy pricing and operations. Dinesh holds a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Christchurch.
